sonny mile flows the most conscious shit and, given enough tracks, could sing for the entire gospel choir. loving the american slice motif, harkening back to faux rhymes. plz don't slow up anytime soon.
Favorite track: Slice.
Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
Just a beautiful jazzy rap album with buttery smooth flows versed with huge talent. It's not only lovely to the ears, but the lyrics are profound and empowering about the struggles that she faces. zhangtastic
Fully convinced this album is a work of genius. Yves threads together genres ranging from D'Angelo like soul, Iron and Wine-esque indie folk and ambient explorations using curious field recordings seamlessly. So many favorites across this album. Well done! kelly archer
